Happy Thursday!  Sorry, I’ve been a little MIA this week.  We are on Anna Maria Island in Florida with my parents, and I just can’t seem to make myself do any work…  Annabel won’t stop talking, or drama-ing, (girls!) and we are her captive audience.  She is so sweet and very well-behaved, but these terrible-two-tantrums are really something to witness, am I right?  As a first-time mom, it can be difficult for me to decide what my reaction should be.  Sometimes, I ignore, sometimes, I comfort, and sometimes, I resort to time-out for her and a glass of wine for me.  I think Annabel actually likes time-out best; she sits there in the corner and does deep-breathing exercises.  I try to not let her see me crack up.

Anywhoooo, this seems to be baby-shower season, and a great time to invest in what children actually need, rather than what they beg us for for three solid months, so I’ve teamed up with Ecopiggy (one of my favorite online retailers for eco-friendly children’s products) for an awesome promotion.  Between today and February 4th, 2016 take 20% off your entire purchase with the code bare20.

A few of my favorites:

  • The durability and quality of the ECOlunchbox items simply cannot be beat.  Their products are Lead-free, BPS-free, BPA-free, PVC-free, Phthalate-free, Vinyl-free and Sweatshop-free.  They won’t break when they hit the floor, they won’t leach dangerous chemicals into your child’s food, and let’s face it, we can use them to pack our own lunches without looking like we are Peppa the Pig’s biggest fan.  (No offense, Peppa.)
  • I really try to steer clear of one-use plastics like ziplock bags, so naturally, I love Little Chickadee Reusable Baggies.  They have a million uses, but I particularly like them for snacks on the go, like nuts, granola, and crackers.  Their water-resistant lining is Phthalate-free, BPA-free and Lead-free, and they’re machine washable.  The outer layer is 100% organic cotton.
  • Pura Kiki makes the only stainless steel infant bottles, sippy cups & straw cups in the world that are 100% Plastic, BPA and EA-Free.  Their silicone nipples, spouts and straws are all interchangeable, so the light-weight container transitions as a child grows.  They’re Annabel’s favorite, and I love that they DON’T LEAK!  Praise the Lord!
  • I’ve written about Ecopacifier in the past.  These are the only pacifier I can endorse with a clear conscience, and another favorite of Annabel’s.  They are 100% pure rubber, sustainably harvested from the Rubber Tree.  No colorants or chemical softeners are used, and they’re made from a single mold, with no crevices to harbor icky bacteria.
  • You know that I try to stay away from plastic, but when Annabel was younger and only eating homemade purées, Squooshies saved me when we were on the go at mealtime.  Did you know that store-bought pouches are not recyclable?  They just sit in landfills for thousands of years!  So while Squooshies are plastic, they are also BPA-free, Phthalate-free, PVC-free, and Lead-free and they reduce waste.  I call that a win when you’re on the go.

I could go on and on.  I urge you to explore Ecopiggy‘s site.  They have so many great eco-friendly alternatives for the kiddos, and with our 20% off promo, you can feel dually proud about making the investment.

Happy Shopping!
