Jiva-Apoha Body Oil for Mama and Baby

JivaPumpBottle_375

The ladies at Ayla Beauty were so sweet to send a little gift my way in honor of my first Mother’s Day.*  They have been raving about Jiva-Apoha’s body oils for over a month and I am so glad I can now say I know what all the fuss is about.  These oils are incredible!  They were created by Angela Shore, a gifted holistic healer who uses her training in Ayureveda and Native American shamanism to blend ultra-pure therapeutic body oils.  Angela hand-blends each bottle and blesses it using her unique approach to healing and energy work.  I’ve recently started learning more about aromatherapy, but it doesn’t take a certification course to know that these oils truly lift my spirit.

Jiva-Apoha’s Amma blend was inspired by Ammaji (aka “The Hugging Saint”), a spiritual leader known for her selfless love and compassion. Amma is Sanskrit for “the Divine Mother,” and this nurturing, soothing, and uplifting formula, made with the highest-quality oils, has been designed to celebrate the part of us all that is generous and extraordinary.  Herbaceous, rosy Palmarosa marries with milky-smooth Sandalwood and hypnotic Indian White Jasmine for the perfect meditative body treatment oil. This blend sinks right into the skin, leaving a silky, not greasy, finish.  The fragrance is unusual, but so beautiful.  Shore calls this blend is a blues-chaser of the highest order.  I seriously cannot stop sniffing my arms.  People are staring.  Cost: about $45 for 2 oz.  Purchase it here.

Ingredients: Sesame oil, Sunflower oil, 100% pure essential Sandalwood, Palmarosa, & Jasmine oils. All organic.

Baby Jiva was originally designed to soothe and nourish the delicate skin of Shore’s godchildren.  The pacifying, calming, and comforting formula is also wonderful for those with skin sensitivities, insomnia, and anxiety.  This blend features 100% pure Roman Chamomile and Lavender essential oils in a mild, moisturizing, organic Sweet Almond Oil base to gently nurture even the most delicate skin.  I’ve been adding this to Annabel’s bathwater to keep her skin moisturized, but you could also easily apply a little after bath time, as the texture is not like the dreaded Johnson’s baby oil.  Also, if you are like me, when you hear the word “lavender”, you run.  Don’t, this time.  This blend has just a whisper of a fragrance; it smells like an infant – which is perfect, because I don’t want Annabel to smell like anything else.  Cost: about $45 for 2 oz.  Purchase it here.

Ingredients: Sweet Almond oil, 100% pure essential Roman Chamomile & Lavender oils. All organic.

*Full Disclosure:  These oils were a gift, but I wrote this post because I genuinely love them.  I can’t be bought.  😉
