Good For You Friday: Gwyneth and her Pumpkin Pie Shake

Y’all know that I love GOOP and I am a big fan of Gwyneth Paltrow.  When asked what her last meal would be she has said, “Oysters and cocktail sauce, and then a baked, stuffed lobster and french fries. I would have a baguette and a cheese course for my dessert, and red wine. I drank like crazy [when the kids were babies]. How else could I get through my day?”  In honor of my last-meal-spirit-animal, I decided to post her Pumpkin Pie Shake, which is one of my favorite protein shakes of all time.  It tastes like dessert and it is a totally legit meal replacement, especially before or after a workout.

| Bernardo’s Pumpkin Pie Shake | (serves 1)

  • 1/2 a roasted sweet potato, flesh only
  • 1 1/2  cups unsweetened vanilla flavored almond milk
  • 1 serving protein powder – this is my favorite
  • 1/4 teaspoon each ground cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg
  • 1 date, pitted
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Blend everything in a powerful blender or a Vitamix until smooth and drink immediately.

Now, I had better get to bed, or else Richard might decide to consciously-uncouple me.  Have a great weekend!
