The Perfect Eye Serum and a Weekend Recap

IMG_2509

Hey there, Bare Beauties!  I’m starting this week a little late.  If you follow me on Instagram, you may know that Richard and I went to Coachella last weekend with some dear friends.  It was kind of spontaneous, really.  We’ve been trying to get pregnant with our second child, and surprise, surprise, once again, it hasn’t proven to be easy (that’s for another post).  We both love live music, and Palm Springs is one of our favorite places, so about 3 weeks ago, Richard was like, “you are not pregnant yet; let’s do this while we can”.  I was excited, but a little hesitant.  Isn’t the Coachella Festival full of young, hot, half-naked 19 year-olds?  Do I need a festival wardrobe?  Will I feel too old to have fun?  Am I a bad mother to leave Annabel for three days for something as wild and frivolous as a music festival?  But what about the blog?  I have so much to do!  You get the idea.  Just a touch of anxiety…  I’m happy to report that it was one of the best trips we’ve ever taken.  While we were gone, we Facetimed with Annabel , who said she was cool with the fact that we left her home, as long as she gets to join us on the next “airplane trip”.  Done, and done, Baby Girl.  We saw more than 15 of our favorite musical acts, had a blast with our friends, and I didn’t think about my age or my jeans size the entire time.  We saw people of all ages and walks of life rocking out and enjoying themselves; it reminded me that you really are only as old as you feel.  Also, this festival is clean, beautiful, well-organized, and very safe.  I did not see one argument, let alone an actual fight.  Everyone was just so happy to be there, alive, watching great music.  I came back Monday night, exhausted from all the tequila-fueled dancing and late nights, but also really inspired and happy.  I highly recommend that you add Coachella to your bucket list.

The Perfect Eye Serum

So, back to saving the world with Green Beauty.  You all know that I am a die-hard loyalist to the True Botanicals Pacific Skincare line (formerly True Nature Botanicals).  Founder Hillary Peterson is a two-time cancer survivor, so you’d better believe that the ingredients in their products are incredibly Clean and nontoxic.  But, more than that, True Botanicals products contain truly active, scientifically proven ingredients that work.  Read this post to learn more about how the True Botanicals Pacific skincare line saved my skin.

True Botanicals recently released Pacific Eye Serum, and I love it – I feel like it was made just for me!  Many of you already know that I am very, very particular when it comes to eye serums and eye creams.  I have extremely sensitive eyes, and I don’t want to use anything that feels sticky, greasy, or that stings (can you believe that some eye creams actually sting your eyes?! #designflaw)  Many eye creams and serums don’t provide me with nearly enough moisture, but True Botanicals Eye Serum is different.  Ingredients like Tuberose Stem Cells, Cucumber Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, and Camellia Seed Oil don’t just moisturize, they brighten, soothe, calm inflammation and puffiness and increase microcirculation, all while softening fine lines and attacking free radicals.  To apply, I put ONE drop on the pad of my ring finger and press it into the pad of my opposite ring finger, and then I “tap” the serum into the skin around my eyes.  My skin drinks it right up and my eye area feels hydrated all day.  *Tip: wait 1-2 minutes before applying eye makeup.*

That’s all for today.  I’ll be attending The Southern Coterie Summit this week in Charleston.  Stay tuned for pics and vids on Instagram and SnapChat! (barebeautyblog).
